Alcaidesa Links Golf CN340-km 124.6 Alcaidesa La Linea-11315 Cadiz www.alcaidesa.com | Alcaidesa is perhaps the closest you will ever get to a ‘links’ course in Andalucia.
Designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark and opened in 1992, slight alterations over the years have made Alcaidesa one of the coasts most popular courses. With a design and layout running alongside the beach, this course gives you a feeling of playing a Scottish links, although the climate is somewhat different! The setting is quite spectacular with views of the Med, Gibraltar and North Africa quite unique and very, very special.
As for the course itself, it offers well-defined fairways with large greens of a very high standard. It is a challenging course, to say the least, with several holes where caution is required. Hit the ball straight and you will enjoy the course, but if you are a little wayward and the wind blows, there could be trouble ahead!! If the worst comes to the worst….you can always admire the views! There are some fabulous holes on offer, with the Par 3 second being quite magnificent. The redesigned Par 5 fifteenth is another to take your breath away, particularly if you are a big hitter and dare to take on the water and go for the green in two. The clubhouse is well-equipped and comfortable with bar and restaurant. Couple this with a terrace area overlooking the Mediterranean and you have a wonderful setting to review your play. Courteous staff will always give you a warm welcome. There are changing facilities, a nearby practice area and putting and chipping greens. The pro shop may be small but it is also well stocked.
Alcaidesa are very strict about booking tee times and receiving handicap certificates. They specify bookings must be made via clubbgolf.com with names and handicaps of players prior to your arrival. You should ensure you let clubbgolf.com book on your behalf to avoid disappointment. Don’t leave home without your handicap certificate!!
