Pairs Texas Scramble at Estepona Golf.
Posted by DavidGoodwin
Competitions

''A Pairs Texas Scramble?'', I heard you cry!!
And not to mention one of the warmest welcome on the coast!!

The sun was out as we, yet again, descended on the ever welcoming Estepona Golf for a 'Pairs Texas Scramble' and a little bit of controversy...... just for good measure of course!!

The golf was good, to say the least, and there were certainly some teams out on the course that complimented each other very well.  The score which springs to mind most, other than the winners of course, was Disco and Noony!  They only missed out by 1 shot when the handicaps came off at the end of the round.  That is where the controversy came to light!!

Unbeknown to me, a group of players had been for a game of golf the week earlier.  And, due to the success of a certain individual, a certain amount of handicap 'slashing' was implemented.  I was not party to the knowledge of the said 'slashing', and the afore mentioned individual was certainly not going to let me into the secret.......were they?  4 shots is quite a drop gents, and if there are going to be questions raised after the round you have to let me before we play.

Anyway, in came our individual, Barry Griffiths and his playing partner Gary Pigot with the grand total of 62.4.  This being after their combined handicap of 12.6 had been removed.  Well done gents and you can certainly expect to lose another shot on top of those four Baz!!

So, Barry and Gary (I'm sure there's a joke in there somewhere) join the ever growing ranks of golfers heading off to Valderamma.  I believe ''our Baz'' even has some new shoes for the day aswell.

And a HUUUUUUUUGGGGGGE thanks to everyone at Estepona Golf!!
Well, Lynley had a laugh watching you all off on the first tee anyway!!
