  Competition report - Alcaidesa
Posted by DavidGoodwin
Competitions

December, and at this months competition we really did take a chance with the weather.  It very nearly paid off aswell!
Alcaidesa Links Golf

We all arrived at Alcaidesa, with a certain amount of trepidation.  Would the weather hold off for us, or would we become victims of the coasts only lynx course as the wind blows?  We were lucky to say the least!  Infact, the weather was glorious and we enjoyed the warmest December day for as long as we could remember.

The course was in great condition and, although the wind picked up later on, we had some seriously good golf being played.  Scores were coming in thick and fast and numerous players were posting scores in the low 30's.  Our eventual winner was, yet again, decided on countback!!  After re-calculating two potentially winning cards, and one of the players losing a point (no, we don't hold bad maths against you!!), our eventual winner was decided by an extra point 1pt at the 18th.  Toralf Fredricksen with 36pts has now joined the ever growing ranks for a trip to Valderrama, and our deepest sympathy goes out to Dave Lee who lost by a point at the 18th.

Well done Toralf, and we look forward to seeing you at Valderrama.
