Saturday 18th August, and we once again visit the ever improving Estepona Golf for our latest competition.

This competition has to be put down as one of the slowest rounds of golf ever recorded at Estepona Golf.  I can't really blame any of our group, due to the fact we somehow ended up with the slowest 2-ball in history in our midst. Yes, you heard correctly, a 2-ball was to blame for the hold up guys and you should consider youselves lucky they only played 9-holes.  Could have been dark for the prize giving if they'd played the full 18.  Hehe!!

As always there were the notable few that narrowly missed out on first prize with Tommy Napier 34pts, Roger 'The Model' Lima and Mickey Glew 33pts and Dave 'Disco' Cuthbertson 32pts coming closest to our eventual winner.  Good golf guys, just not quite good enough!!  Gotta keep those blobs off the card if you want to win.  With the wind increasing as the day wore on I have to wonder if the normally 'sliced out-of-bounds' golf ball was remaining in play to keep the scores up.  Only joking guys, and better luck next time!!

Our eventual winner posted a score of 36pts playing from a handicap of 8.  With birdies at the 1st, 6th and the 7th I am sure nobody could argue that an excellent round of golf was played.  Our congratulations go to David Sharpe and we will look forward to seeing you at Valderrama.  Although, a little bird tells me 36pts will be a lot harder to score on that day!!

I would just like to take this opportunity to wish Roger all the very best for the future.  He, like 'Uncle' Ray Slotte, is relocating to Holland with work commitments and this was his last competition with clubbgolf.com.  Roger, if you ever get the chance to visit Spain please feel free to attend our competition, there will always be a warm welcome!!
