The July competition saw us descend on the lovely El Chaperral for another Individual Stableford.

The 29th July 2006 seen us all descend on the beautifully picturesque El Chaperral on the Mijas Costa, and what a day it was.  Not quite the ideal place for our higher handicappers, but none the less they all seemed to enjoy the views.  The views of their golfballs disappearing that is!!  A tough course, to say the least, and maybe a little worn due to the amount of golfers playing it.  Give it time and I'm sure the course will become a longstanding favourite with local and touring golfers alike. 

Yet again, the field battled out an individual stableford, with ‘Disco’ Dave Cuthbertson taking home a trip to Valderrama with a well shot 36pts.  There was a little more excitment on the day with a hole-in-one.  Not quite what you would expect on the golf course and if you would like more details, have a word with Mark 'Chops' Simmonds or Stuart 'Three Roses' Cannon.  Absolutely hilarious and well done 'Chops'!! 

We allowed full handicaps this time and are more than pleased to say we have a group of very honest golfers offering only genuine handicaps.  ‘Disco’, as he is affectionately known, has decided to hold on to his prize and take advantage of the ‘all day at Valderamma’ option we are now offering as first prize. 

Well done ‘Disco’ and needless to say your handicap will be cut next time out.  36pts at El Chaperral?..... you are more than capable of getting that handicap down!!  Hehe!!

Mark 'Chops' Simmonds actually gets to collect a prize..........for the most lost golf balls!!!!  But he did get a hole-in-one!!  hahaha
